Japanese vehicle manufacturer creates magnetic motorcycle

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

Japan rules the roost when it comes to the future of motorcycles and it seems that one particular manufacturer was hit by the idea of a lifetime. A new, electric motorbike prototype from Genesis was unveiled featuring a hybrid magnetic motor. Apparently, the unit can power the motorcycle almost noiselessly up to speeds of 112 mph. Interesting as well is the riding position. The biker is extremely comfortable accommodated in an armchair-like riding position and even best is that the (...)

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008
From College OTR: Four men were taken into custody yesterday after one man, Tharin Gartrell, was arrested in Denver when police found two rifles, ammo, a rifle scope, a bullet-proof vest, walkie-talkies and meth in his car during a routine traffic stop. They knew it was serious because of the walkie-talkies-- ...

History of the hidden motorcycle museum

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Set up by John Burgin as a retiring activity, the hidden motorcycle museum is one of the best privately owned collections of motorcycles in the country. It is located in Spanaway, Washington (so it's not hidden any more?) and it includes a full set of Harley-Davidson Knuckleheads. John passed away two years ago, but it leaves behind what could easily be the work of a lifetime gathered only during its (...)

Supreme comparison goes wrong: Hayabusa vs ZX14

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Which better way to compare a Suzuki Hayabusa with a Kawasaki ZX14 then on a straight line? And which better place to do that then at the O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis? The Hayabusa was going for a good run, but it seems that previous burnouts for worming out that rear tire worn it too much, ending up blowing. It is amazing that the rider was still conscious after such a crash and I can understand why it didn't got up its (...)

Motorcycle ? House on wheels

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

When time is short and distance is long, people end up inventing such things as houses on wheels. Yes, they're called motor homes, but you don't expect to see a three-wheeled machine with the roof made out of wood and straws when you say that don't you? I must agree with you although this is a common sight in Cambodia. Entire families commute like that and as long as it keeps rain away, everything is supposedly just fine. On the side, they have an arbor so sun is also a factor to be taken in (...)

Riders longing to look like Capirossi and Vermeulen must know that Suzuki has made this new limited edition GSX-R1000 available in special blue color, exactly like the one of the Suzuki GSV-R. Their strategy is to allow Loris Capirossi and Chris Vermeulen, as well as the team's fans, to take to the road a GP-inspired colored version of one of the best track racing bikes ever made. A number of (...)

Motorcycle escape scene from ?Indiana Jones The Last Crusade?

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

Shot in 1989, this motorcycle chase that I found on Youtube catches my attention for being more complex and realistic than most modern-day scenes despite the “ingenious” defense methods. Which brings us to question I've long wanted to ask: Are stunts as attractive and impressive now as they were in the good old days?
